We are looking for a Freight Updater to join our logistics team and play a key role in tracking and managing freight shipments. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, excellent communicators, and eager to grow in the trucking industry. 🚀 Career Growth Opportunity: Our top-performing Freight Updaters will have the opportunity to be promoted to a Dispatcher role, where they will take on more responsibilities in managing drivers, coordinating shipments, and optimizing logistics operations.

Job duties:

1. Tracking & Monitoring Shipments

📍 Monitor truck locations and shipment statuses in real-time.
📅 Update dispatch software with accurate pickup, transit, and delivery details.
📡 Use GPS tracking systems and check-in with drivers to confirm their status.

2. Communication & Coordination

📞 Maintain regular communication with drivers, dispatchers, and brokers.
📧 Notify customers and brokers of any delays, changes, or issues with loads.
📋 Relay critical information between drivers and logistics teams.

3. Data Entry & System Updates

💻 Enter load updates, arrival times, and delivery confirmations into the company’s system.
📝 Ensure all documents, such as bills of lading (BOLs) and proof of delivery (PODs), are updated.
⚙️ Verify and correct any discrepancies in shipment details.

4. Issue Resolution & Problem-Solving

🚨 Identify and report delays, breakdowns, or route issues to the appropriate team.
🔄 Assist in rescheduling loads if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
📢 Work with dispatchers and drivers to resolve any transit-related problems.

5. Compliance & Documentation

📑 Ensure all shipment records meet company and DOT compliance standards.
🛃 Verify driver logs and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
✅ Keep track of load numbers, invoices, and paperwork related to shipments.

Skills:

✔ Experience in logistics, trucking, or freight brokerage (preferred but not required).
✔ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
✔ Familiarity with dispatch and tracking software (TMS, McLeod, Samsara, etc.).
✔ Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and freight operations.
✔ Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
